Brief Book Review: Maus

I am reviewing some books I have read during my time in Florida, using some short literary forms. Here's an epic simile on Maus (volumes I and II) by Art Spiegelman.

For these graphic novels, Spiegelman used white paper and black ink, as black as the coal above the trap door hiding Jews from Nazis, as black as the weeks of suffering spent stuffed in a boxcar, as black as the memories of his mother's suicide, to recount his father's tale of life before, during, and after the holocaust, portraying Germans as cats and Jews as mice.
